Frequently asked questions

Why can prayer times differ by 1–2 minutes from an official calendar?

Times are calculated astronomically on your device. With the Turkey method they usually match official tables; depending on how far you are from the city centre there can be a one-minute difference. Abroad, fajr and isha can differ more. You can shift each prayer by minutes in Settings > Fine-tuning.

Reminders do not arrive.

Check that notifications are on in iPhone Settings > Notifications > Dua ve Namaz. Reminders are scheduled on the device in advance; opening the app every few days keeps them going. If the app has not been opened for a long time, it reminds you with a notification.

Does the alarm ring on silent?

Yes. If you choose "Alarm" for a prayer, it rings even on silent, like alarms in the Clock app, and shows a full-screen Stop button on the Lock Screen. Regular notifications cannot do this.

Do I have to allow location access?

No. You can use the app fully by choosing a city from the list. If you allow it, your location is used only on your device.

The qibla compass is not accurate.

Hold the phone flat and move away from metal objects and speakers. The app warns you when compass accuracy is low; moving the phone in a figure-eight a few times calibrates it. With location access the compass uses true north and is more accurate.

Why did the Lock Screen countdown (Live Activity) end?

The Live Activity counts down only to the next prayer; when the time begins it shows that the time has begun. iOS may also end it after a few hours. You can start it again from the app for the next prayer.
